Our Cream Cheese Salami Rollups

When our son was in elementary school, it was very difficult to get him to eat his lunch. He never wanted to bring a sandwich for lunch. Instead he wanted to have a bunch of snacks. Minda and I wanted to make sure he had something tasty that he would look forward to eating rather than just toss in the trash when he got home. That’s when I remembered my family putting out salami and cream cheese for holidays and other get togethers. They were a hit with the whole family. So, we came up with our version of these Cream Cheese Salami Rollups. Adding a little extra cheese and onion to make them fun and give it a little crunch in the middle. Now we enjoy these whenever we have the munchies.

Ingredients, Substitutions, and Additions

Salami – Try some sliced oven roasted turkey. I enjoy roast beef in place of salami.

Cheese – Any type of block cheese will do. Pepper Jack gives a little zip to your rollups.

Fresh Veggies and Herbs – Try some fresh basil, it pairs perfectly. Sweet bell pepper makes a great addition and offers a little crunch to your rollups.

Toppings – Try a little bit of a balsamic glaze atop your Cream Cheese Salami Rollups. Sriracha is a sweet and spicy chili sauce that is an amazing topping that will bring the heat.
