Our Sheet Pan Steak and Veggie Dinner
Many years ago, on my birthday Minda and her parents bought me my first grill. Man, I was happy. Many hamburgers, hotdogs, and steaks were cooked. Minda has never been a fan of hotdogs, so she started asking for foil packet dinners. This was a combo of steak, veggies, and seasonings wrapped in foil and thrown on the grill. As time went on, we moved and our new place wouldn’t allow us to use a grill but we still wanted our foil packet dinners. This made us think outside the box and we created our delicious Sheet Pan Steak and Veggie Dinner.
Ingredients, Substitutions, and Additions
Steak – For this recipe we used some sirloin tip steaks that we picked up for cheap at the store. Any type of steak will do. If the steak is really thick you might need to adjust the broiling time.
Veggies – Minda, our son, and I love asparagus. It goes perfect with steak. We have also used broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, cabbage, and green beans. Use what you love.
Potatoes – We always have a 5-pound bag of baby Yukon and red potatoes on hand. They are great when roasted in the oven.
Dry Seasonings – With the super flavorful marinade we decided to go easy on dry seasonings. We use Granulated garlic, kosher salt, and pepper. Thyme and oregano are also great. Add some red pepper flakes are perfect if you want a little heat.
Marinade (Optional) – I always love mixing ingredients to create new marinades and this time was a success. We grated red bell pepper, onion, and garlic then mixed it with olive oil and Worcestershire sauce and WOW. If you don’t want to marinade your steak, season as desired.
