Our Quick and Easy Spaghetti
Nothing beats a quick and easy dinner after a long day. When Minda and I first moved in with each other we had very little time with her working days and I nights. We always struggled to be able to sit and enjoy dinner with each other during the week. Our Quick and Easy Spaghetti has always been a great go to when needing a quick, easy, and delicious meal.
Ingredients, Substitutions, and Additions
Ground turkey – Try ground beef, chicken, or pork. Most of the time we use ground turkey but sometimes we like to switch it up a bit.
Pasta Sauce – Use what your family loves. We love Prego Traditional. It always hits the spot.
Dry Seasonings – Instead of using Italian seasoning try using a mixture of your favorite seasonings. Try dried basil, oregano, thyme, fennel, rosemary and paprika. If you feel like a little bit of heat add some red pepper flakes.
Fresh veggies and herbs – Add some fresh basil, rosemary, and thyme to enhance the flavor of the sauce. Add some bell pepper, mushrooms, or black olives to hide veggies in your sauce. If you like spicy dice up some jalapeno or serrano and enjoy the burn.
Spaghetti Noodles – There are several different types of noodles that can be used. We love thick spaghetti noodles. Try angel hair or thin spaghetti for a smaller type of noodle. If you want to eat out of a bowl try cellentani, rotini, farfalle or penne.
Toppings – No pasta is complete without cheese. Grated, shredded, or shaved parmesan is perfect on top of your spaghetti. Also try a couple drops of your favorite hot sauce to kick up spiciness.
