Our Awesome Meatball Sliders
One of our families favorite meals are meatball subs. Recently, in anticipation of watching our favorite football team play, Mike and I decided we needed to try our favorite meatball subs in slider form. We weren’t disappointed. These Awesome Meatball Sliders are the perfect size for sharing with friends and family and are delicious. We recommend them for any gathering, potluck, or gameday treat.
Ingredients, Substitutions, and Additions
Meatballs – Really, you can use any meatballs. Frozen or homemade are fine. We like to make a double batch of our Perfect Turkey Meatballs and freeze half for meals like these. We use 2 turkey meatballs for each slider. Our Perfect Turkey Meatballs are the size of a heaping tablespoon.
Buns – We found some brioche slider buns at our grocery store. They have been the perfect complement for these Meatball Sliders, our Popcorn Chicken Sliders, and our Easy BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders. Any slider bun is fine just make sure that it has the ability to hold up to marinara sauce.
Cheese – Who doesn’t want cheese on their meatball sliders? A soft cheese easy to melt is ideal for these Meatball Sliders. We like mozzarella, havarti, or a brie. The creaminess of your cheese will give you that amazing pull apart gooeyness.
Marinara – Nothing is better than taking a bit of your meatball slider and having a great tasting marinara complement the meatballs and cheese. Use a marinara you love because it’s worth it.
